Our Institute is one of the premier institutions in the Somaiya Vidyavihar campus, enjoys a linguistic minority status and is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and recognized by UGC under 2(f) and 12(b) of U.G.C. Act.

To fulfil our mission of empowering students,

the college lays great emphasis on the all-round development of all its pupils. While academic excellence is of course encouraged and rewarded, a variety of extra-curricular activities conducted by the institutions enable students to explore and bring out their talents and potential and develop an onward looking and confident personality.

About 6,500 students of both the Junior and Senior College and about 150 Post Graduate and Research students participate in academic and other activities of the college every year under the guidance of a caring and supportive staff.

It’s no small achievement to distinguish oneself in such diverse fields as commerce, education, and philanthropy. Pujya Shriman Karamshibhai Jethabhai Somaiya, born on May 16 1902 in the remote village of Malunjar in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India, was however, a blessed person by dint of hard work and singular devotion to service.

The Somaiya Vidyavihar campus comprises of 36 individual Institutes dedicated in the area of Liberal Arts, Sciences, Management, Humanities, Philosophies and Social Sciences as important aspects of scholarship, and is spread across a 50-acre complex in Vidyavihar, in north central area of Mumbai and a 90-acre complex in Sion, in the heart of Mumbai.

 

Somaiya Vidyavihar aims to provide

Meaningful and relevant education that emphasizes both the liberal and professional aspects of higher education, steeped in rich Indian culture and heritage and rooted in universal religious philosophies of the world.

The trust also runs autonomous post graduate courses, vocational training courses, and high schools within the campus as well as in rural India.
