Ph.D. Centre of K J Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce was commenced in 2011 under the guideship of Dr. Deelip Palsapure, HOD (Department of Commerce). The centre was granted the permission to admit the research scholars under the criteria of Business Policy & Administration. The Centre is well equipped with information technology equipments as well as the research softwares. The library attached to theresearch centre is updated with the recent reference books in suitable criteria. Five research scholars have already completed their doctorate programme successfully.

The training programme required to be completed by research scholars is arranged in association with Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research. Five research scholars are currently pursuing their research under the guidance of Dr. Deelip Palsapure.

  • Dr. Deelip Prabhakar Palsapure, HOD, Department of Commerce initiated his tenure in the college from December 1998. He completed his post-graduation from University of Pune in the area of Commerce and Accountancy. He achieved his doctorate degree in the area of Human Resource, Commerce from University of Pune under the guidance of Dr. P. C. Shejawalkar (Emeritus Professor). He achieved the expertise in Management Studies i.e. MMS from Pune University.
  • Being the initiator of Research Centre in college, five research scholars have successfully completed their doctorate degree under his able guideship. Another five research scholars are currently pursuing the programme in the versatile areas of commerce. He is also shouldering the responsibility of placement of students. Remarkable number of students has been placed successfully. Forty two research papers in various recognized national and international journals are to his credit.
