Ranga Parva

रंगपर्व is a flagship event of the centre. It is the Monsoon Theatre festival held for the first time in the year 2022. We aim to make this our regular yearly activity.

Rangaparva 2022, was a one of its kind monsoon theatre festival, betided on 20th August 2022 which commenced from 4 at the evening in their very own college auditorium namely – Kalidas Sabhagruha. The theme for this tenderfoot festival was ‘संस्कृतनाट्यतरङ्ग’ ( a dramatic breaker of Sanskrit plays). Rangaparva saw a triad of teams performing in the theatre festival namely K.J Somaiya college of Arts and Commerce – Somaiya Vidyavihar University , Maharashtra Seva Sangh – Mulund and Academy of Theatre Arts – University of Mumbai; who staged the plays सा विद्या या विमुक्तये, देवादपि गरीयसि, कर्णभारम् respectively.

Efficient media-canvassing of Rangaparva undoubtedly resulted in a humongous response from the audience; which consisted of Sanskrit scholars and theatre connoisseurs spanning across all the ages. 400 theatre lovers benefitted from the festival. Anchored triumphantly by its volunteers, Rangaparva , did scintillate a sparkle of Sanskrit language and literature yet again in the minds of people who witnessed it !
