About Cultural Forum
The Cultural Forum (CF) is a student centric, extra-curricular body that provides a platform for the students to explore and enhance their talents. The CF organizes numerous cultural activities in the college to bring out the creative abilities of the students and provide them with a platform for their complete personality development.
The Cultural Forum aims to create and facilitate a space for students from diverse creative backgrounds. The committee is kept in high spirits by the constant support of the teachers.
The CF nurtures the personality of the students by creating a sense of team spirit and necessary qualities like leadership, self-confidence, discipline, commitment and creativity which would be immensely utilitarian in their life. The CF is a student centred group and it is this which makes the CF stand out.
Cultural Forum Team
The Cultural Forum is a student driven activity. The CF Team is carefully selected after a thorough interview process. It has eight functioning teams that specialise in different domains to ensure a fluid environment in the committee.
The Core Committee
is the guiding group of the Cultural Forum and supervises the functioning of the following teams of Cultural Forum:
Administration
This team keeps track of all the data related to the committee and its events.
Gaming
Gaming conducts and curates sports as well as e-sports events.
IT / Photography
Responsible for the technological management and support. It also looks after the photography and videography of the events.
Literary Arts
The literary body of the Cultural Forum that deals with the organising of Literary events for Hooner Fest (Annual Festival) along with event reports, annual reports, brochures and other forms of written communication.
Fine Arts
Fine Arts is the artistic body of cultural forum which deals with all forms of graphic and visual arts. It undertakes the major tasks of making the drop down banner along with the festive decorations that embody the theme of Hooner (Annual Festival organised by the CF).
Performing Arts
This team looks after the management of events pertaining to the Performing Arts, including the Flashmob.
Promotions
The body responsible for promoting Hooner (Annual Festival) and other activities conducted by the Cultural Forum across the media platforms.
Public Relations
The department responsible for obtaining sponsorships and inviting prominent personalities during the Hooner Fest.
HOONER
Hooner, the three-day annual intercollegiate festival of K J Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce (Autonomous) is organized by the Cultural Forum. Every year, undergraduate students from various colleges participate in large numbers in the college fest. Hooner has a legacy of almost three decades in successfully hosting various fine arts, literary arts and performing arts events along with celebrating the talent of all kinds. It is marked by a different theme every year that enhances the spirit of celebration in students.

Beach cleaning activity at Dadar Chowpaty
In September, in collaboration with Dadar G/North Ward BMC, There was a volunteer event on 24th September, 2018 to clean the beach after Ganesh Visarjan.
Patangotsav 2019
It was organised in collaboration with the Gujarati Sahitya Mandal of KJSAC.
Judge for Annual Fest
Ms. Apoorva Arora was the judge for our multi-talent solo contest Superstar.
The Foundation Day
The Foundation Day is celebrated on 9th September in honour of Shri Karamshi Somaiya, the Founder of Somaiya Vidyavihar.

World Yoga Day
On 21st June 2017, National level gymnasts Rutuja, Juhi and Aarti astounded us with their flexibility.
