Current Ph.D. Centre of K. J. Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce was commenced in 2005 under the guideship of Dr. Satish Pandey, HOD, Department of Hindi. The Centre was granted the permission to admit 05 research scholars, which was increased up to 8 in the Year 2010. Earlier in the late 80s the department was a research centre when Dr. K. L. Sharma and Dr. Harivansh Pandey were the research guides. 2 research scholars have completed their Ph. D. degree under the guidance of Dr. K. L. Sharma and 6 research scholars have completed their Ph. D. degree under the guidance of Dr. Harivansh Pandey. Dr. Satish Pandey has successfully guided 9 research scholars for Ph. D. degree.
Centre is well equipped with information technology equipments as well as the research softwares. The library attached to the research centre is updated with the recent reference books and reputed Journal and magazines in suitable criteria. Five research scholars have already completed their doctorate programme successfully. The course work is also conducted by the department. Five research scholars are currently pursuing their research under the guidance of Dr. Satish Pandey.
