With a career span of over 30 years, my vision is to foster a learning environment that is transformative and socially responsive, and empowers learners to critically engage with contemporary social realities and contribute to society in a meaningful way.  As a sociologist, educator and researcher, I aspire to promote knowledge that advances social justice, sustainability, inclusivity and community wellbeing.  By incorporating innovative and experiential teaching practices, I seek to cultivate curiosity and critical thinking among students.

As Einstein stated, “It is harder to crack prejudice than an atom”, pointing to out ingrained beliefs that inhibit change. To this effect, I envision strengthening research culture by encouraging interdisciplinary inquiry and collaborative engagement with communities.  My commitment is to bridge academic knowledge with societal needs, particularly in the areas of tourism, development, environmental sustainability and inclusive education.  As an academic leader, I strive to build institutions that nurture excellence, equity and innovation. Through the culture of research and dialogue, I aim to aspire future generations to become informed, compassionate and responsible citizens capable of creating positive social change.
