Demystifying the Historical Saga: A Comparative Discourse on Amitav Ghosh’s ‘The Glass Palace’ and Murlidhar Khairnar’s ‘Shodh’ The domain of comparative studies is gaining prominence in the recent times. The comparative approach while studying languages and literature helps one to understand the ethos of the language acquired and language learnt. Language is not merely a tool of communication but also a vehicle of culture. Learning various languages and reading their literature enables one to gain a deeper understanding of human nature and human life. The researcher in this paper aims at bringing the comparative discourse on Amitav Ghosh’s ‘The Glass Palace’ and Murlidhar Khairnar’s ‘Shodh’. The novels are respectively written in English and Marathi and they juxtapose History and Fiction. The objective of the paper is to illuminate the essential resemblances and differences to render it as an enriching experience.
