The term 'Bhāsya' is an important and essential prototype in Sanskrit philosophical omumentary. A typical bhāşya would be word by word explanatory analysis of a Sutra or ther classical work. "Bhāşya' - this term literally means "speaking, talking, any work in the current, vernacular speech, and also refers to, as stated in A Sanskrit English Dictionary (Sir Monier Williams (pg 756)) any "explanatory work, exposition, explanation, commentary" that brings to light something else. The 'Bhāsya' or Commentary' is an essential aspect for understanding the concepts and the meaning of the original or basic text of any kind in Sanskrit language. In Sanskrit Literature we come across many kinds of compositional works. Vedic Sanskrit Literature which is considered mo be the most ancient is in the form of Sutra or Aphorisms, and it is possessed of many characteristics. Brevity is one of those most important features. Anyone who want to read or study Vedic Sanskrit Literature or even Classical Sanskrit Literature, with self- intellectual strength have to drive themselves to bring out the meaning from basic text because many implications and references were left off and even elaboration also seems avoided in the root text. Apart from this, Compactness can be observed in the basic original Sanskrit texts of all types of technical writing. Every branch of knowledge in the course of its transmission from one generation to the other acquires a unique mode of expression and develops a specific methodology to explain the concept to the learner. While going through Upanişat-s, it can be found that some words are only implicit or some aspects are like a pointer and some points may even raise doubts in the mind of the scholar. To understand subject knowledge of that text in an apparent way, interpretation of the particular Upanişat-text is obligatory. So, it can be said that commentary and commentator as well plays a significant role as an important aid.
