Abstract The city of Mumbai has always remained centre of attraction for the outsiders. The migration of the Jains to Mumbai brought about a number of implications. The strict adherence of the Jains to the religious principles of Jainism played crucial role in this context. The preference and the choice of the Jains for the type of the economic activities distinct from the other inhabitants of the city added interesting dynamics to the story of this dream city. The economic factors particularly globalisation turned the wave of migration of the Jains. Corona pandemic contributed to the reverse migration of the Kutchi Jains of Mumbai.
