The Department of Commerce constantly strives to fulfill its institutional vision that of, Providing opportunities for students to pursue education, which will culminate into a mind that, researches and aims to achieve excellence.

Syllabus

K J Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce, Vidyavihar Mumbai is premiere academic Institution with autonomous status having introduced the CBCGS (Choice Based Credit and Grading System) to cater the needs of the learner with a focus on learner centric curriculum. Curriculum is revised after every three years after obtaining the inputs from the alumni, industrial experts, subject experts and the teachers. In tune with the University of Mumbai's curricular structure, UGC guidelines and NAAC expectations regular designing and development of quality- based curriculum with local, regional, national and international relevance leading to excellence. The revision of the elective , core, ability enhancement and the interdisciplinary courses in under graduate as well as as post graduate program is undertaken after every three years. CBCGS with its rich and varied palette of courses opens up newer avenues of learning beyond the opted discipline across the departments.

Activities

The Commerce Association bridges the gap between Industry and Academia by conducting various guest lectures of industry experts. It also conducts various field visits like Bombay Port Trust, Bombay Stock Exchange etc. The association is committed in improving the various skills of the students to enhance the employability. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is functioning in the college with the objective of nurturing entrepreneurship skills of the students. The cell provides a platform for the students to pursue entrepreneurial activities and also provides assistance to potential entrepreneurs. It promotes the motto of the Prime ministers for promotion Atma Nirbar Bharat and Make in India and Made in India. It has conducted various Entrepreneurial Skills, Soft Skills & Life Skills, Chocolate making, cake, donut making, flower making etc.
